The official website of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI) announced that the 2024 AIPPI World Intellectual Property Congress will be held in Hangzhou from Oct 19 to 22 next year.
In October 2012, during the AIPPI World Intellectual Property Congress held in Seoul, South Korea, Hangzhou secured the hosting rights for the 2020 Congress. This marked the first time in over 120 years of AIPPI's history that the Congress be held in China.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and other factors, the congress was postponed until 2024, as one of the most important international conferences in Hangzhou following the 19th Asian Games.
The 2023 Congress will be held in Istanbul, Turkey from Oct 22 to 25 this year, and Hangzhou will send a delegation to attend the handover ceremony and be engaged in promotional activities.
