On July 14, the 100-day countdown to the 4th Asian Para Games in Hangzhou kicked off with a themed activity held at the Fuyang Water Sports Center, where the promotional video, the theme songs and the medals of the upcoming Games were released.
The medals of the 4th Asian Para Games are named "Osmanthus Grace", which is derived from a Tang lyric poem composed a thousand years ago by Bai Juyi, the then poet-governor of Hangzhou. One line of it reads, "Around mountain temples I search for osmanthus blooms falling from the moon". Combining the symbolic meanings of the Liangzhu jade and sweet osmanthus, the city flower of Hangzhou, "Osmanthus Grace" pays tribute to both the Lianghzu culture and the city. The sweet osmanthus adds a refreshing and pleasant element to the overall design.
Chasing the Dream, the promotional video for the 4th Asian Para Games, invited three representatives of athletes with disabilities as heroes. They will participate in the athletics, swimming and goalball games. With their stories of chasing dreams, the video focuses on the persistence and the optimistic spirit of the people with disabilities.
In addition, the promotional songs for the 4th Asian Para Games were also well received at the themed activity. On the event some new singers from the younger generation, singers of art troupes and college students were invited to sing the four beautiful songs in different musical styles, voicing for the people with disabilities.
Hangzhou is geared up for the 4th Asian Para Games. The Hangzhou Asian Para Games Organizing Committee will continue to strive for running high standards and high-quality events and services to ensure the athletes and participants with warmth, and with meticulous, efficient and appropriate services.
