In 2024, Jiande, a city in Hangzhou, and Beijing Forlong Holdings Group finalized a contract to invest 3 billion yuan in building East China’s largest ski resort.
Wulong Mountain is located in eastern Jiande, north of the ancient town of Meicheng. The mountain has a fan-shaped main peak, with an altitude of 909 meters, making it one of the first areas in Hangzhou to experience snowfall each year.
Construction of the ski resort is underway, with snowmaking and site exploration in progress. These efforts have confirmed that the summit of Wulong Mountain is highly suitable for winter sports. The first phase of the ski resort will feature eight ski trails, scheduled to open by the end of December this year.
Jiande aims to become one of China’s leading hubs for extreme sports in the future. In addition to the ski resort, the city will construct a 3,000-meter skydiving facility and a hotel featuring 42-meter-deep diving pools--the deepest in China.
It will be a comprehensive diving-themed resort, integrating diving training, competitions, underwater photography, dining, accommodation, aquatic camp education, and water sports, and is expected to open this summer.
