The 2024 Hangzhou International Future Life Expo (FLEX), themed “Unlock the Future”, was held at Alibaba Digital Ecology Innovation Park from Oct 11 to 13.
During the expo, an exhibition named “Unveiling the New Center” showcased the latest development result of “a significant new center”, which lies along the 2.5-kilometer central axis of Yuhang district. The exhibition will last until Oct 27.
According to the development plan, the central axis will feature six key zones, namely an International Digital Business Area, a Smart Innovation Headquarters Zone, a Financial Innovation Hub, an Art and Culture Commercial Area, a Vibrant Waterfront International Zone, and a Leisure and Tourism Consumption Area.
This year’s FLEX included three main themes: new productivity, new youth, and new lifestyles, each featuring multiple sub-events. In total, there were 10 thematic activities across these categories.
The new productivity section highlighted cutting-edge technology, focusing on industries such as artificial intelligence, humanoid robotics, low-altitude economy, and brain-like intelligence.
Visitors could also experience the latest in 3D scanning technology with a handheld scanner that creates digital replicas in just 30 seconds.
In the new lifestyle section, visitors were able to explore a wide range of electric vehicle brands and take advantage of trade-in offers. The intangible heritage section highlighted traditional crafts such as tea art, bamboo flute making, and umbrella crafting, with Taobao artisans demonstrating ancient techniques passed down through generations.
On Oct 11, the Alibaba Digital Ecology Innovation Park officially opened its doors to the public, transforming into an international youth district welcoming everyone.
This weekend, the park will continue the celebrations with pop-up markets, motorcycle culture events, and additional trade-in opportunities, offering visitors a taste of the future in a setting filled with the scent of osmanthus flowers.
