The Jingshan Tea Culture Park, one of the “Top Ten Projects” in the first phase of the Liangzhu Cultural Corridor, has officially unveiled its model section, the “Mengshanjing”.
Situated at the former site of the Hangzhou Tea Experimentation Field in Pingyao Town, the park will be developed in three phases. The “Mengshanjing”, the first phase model section, covers an area of 50,224 square meters. Its design draws inspiration from the exquisite elegance of Song Dynasty architecture and centers around the theme of tea culture, creating an immersive space that integrates performances, Jingshan specialty cuisine, tea beverages, high-end hotels, and a traditional costume pavilion.
The “Mengshanjing” features five major systems: tea ceremony, tea cuisine, tea drinking, tea residence, and tea charm, constructing an immersive tea culture experience through various dimensions, including performances and cuisine. Among these, the Jingshan Tea Banquet stands out.
Originating in the mid-Tang Dynasty at Jingshan Temple, the Jingshan Tea Banquet was inscribed on UNESCO’s Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity as part of the “Traditional Tea Processing Techniques and Associated Social Practices in China” in 2022.
The tea banquet ceremony is rich and elaborate, including over ten procedures that recreate the scenes of literati and scholars using tea to connect and socialize during the Song Dynasty. Upon opening, visitors can appreciate the Jingshan Tea Banquet and immerse themselves in the culture of the Song Dynasty.
Moving to the tea-themed restaurant, visitors will find uniquely designed dining spaces offering exquisite dishes infused with tea. The interplay of light and shadow enhances the distinctive charm of Chinese aesthetics.
After its opening, the “Mengshanjing” will offer two main tea beverage systems: traditional Jingshan tea and medicinal health teas, providing visitors with a variety of tea options.
Beyond the tea beverage area lies another highlight of the “Mengshanjing”--the traditional costume pavilion. Stepping into the pavilion feels like traveling back in time, where every stitch of the Hanfu garments reflects classical beauty. The pavilion will offer various thematic, plot-driven, and travel photography sessions, complete with exquisite makeup and photography services, allowing visitors to showcase their classical elegance.
The park also features seventeen guest rooms, each uniquely designed around different tea themes and inspired by Song Dynasty tea culture and the tales of the “Twelve Tea Masters” of the era.
