A beacon of luxury, Marriott International has announced its plans to expand the W Hotels portfolio to Hangzhou. Slated to open in 2031, W Hangzhou is set to rise amidst the skyline of Qianjiang Century City, Hangzhou’s developing new CBD. This architectural marvel is poised to become a new symbol of luxury hospitality in Hangzhou.

The arrival of W Hangzhou was confirmed after Marriott International signed an agreement with Zhong An Commercial Group, part of China New City Group. Designed by renowned architectural firm Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, the hotel will occupy the top floors of a 240-meter building that will be part of the IOC complex. It will feature 270 guest rooms and suites, with approximately half of the rooms offering unparalleled views of the Qiantang River for guests.

W Hangzhou will boast a street-front location, ensuring excellent visibility and accessibility, approximately 15 kilometers from Hangzhoudong Railway Station and about 24 kilometers from Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport. It will also be adjacent to renowned landmarks and attractions, including the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center, a landmark complex where the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games were previously held, and the largest retail center in the area, InCity.

Meanwhile, another luxury hotel, the second property of Four Seasons in Hangzhou—Four Seasons Hotel Hangzhou at Hangzhou Center, is expected to open on October 15 this year. The bustling downtown core will soon welcome this new luxury hotel as part of the highly anticipated Hangzhou Center mixed-use development project.

The opening of a new Four Seasons and the successful signing of W Hangzhou cement Hangzhou’s growing luxury footprint, setting the city as one of China’s premier destinations for luxury travelers.
