On June 1, a world-class museum was inaugurated in the Xianghu Lake scenic area as a new cultural landmark of Hangzhou. The official opening of the World Tourism Museum, located next to the headquarters of the World Tourism Alliance, signifies the keen internationalization of Hangzhou.
The museum incorporates a few exhibition halls, including the Tourism General Hall, the World Tourism Hall and China Tourism Hall, which will comprehensively showcase world tourism cultures to the public. It is a multifunctional digital and intellectual museum that integrates cultural display and dissemination, collection and research, exhibition and cultural exchange, as well as tourism and leisure.
Covering a total construction area of 39,393sqm, the museum is the world's first comprehensive exhibition center with the theme of tourism, cultural exhibitions and restaurants, warmly attracting world-wide visitors onto a memorable cultural and natural tour.
