What is new about the road construction in Hangzhou? At the intersection of Jianghong Road and Xinyue Road, a newly built footbridge is about to be completed, which marks the first irregular pedestrian bridge in Bingjiang district with a total length of about 92.3 meters and a width ranging from 6.5 meters to 10.46 meters.
Shaped like surging tides or a rainbow, the footbridge's main section creatively features a robust steel box girder in a semi-curved pattern which connects the two roads.
Around the footbridge, there are several public facilities including the Second Affiliated Hospital of ZJU School of Medicine and Wentao Primary School. Due to the heavy traffic flow on weekdays, the new footbridge will alleviate the traffic pressure on Jianghong Road and Xinyue Road.
