The Hangzhou Jinsha Lake Grand Theatre, located by the Jinsha Lake in Qiantang district, was opened to the public on the May Day.

Designed by the renowned Chinese architect Cheng Taining, the theatre overlooking the beautiful Jinsha Lake has a total building area of 44,000 square meters. With three functional spaces - the grand theatre, multi-function hall, and a shared space - the theatre is a good venue for large-scale musicals, operas, dramas, and dance dramas with an auditorium that can seat up to 1,525 people.

The theatre has already scheduled more than 170 performances and events for the year, with the premiere set for July 8 featuring the famous conductor Li Xincao leading the China Symphony Orchestra.

The high-quality entertainment goes with affordable ticket prices for the public, with some performances priced as low as 40 yuan.

Key plays that will be pre-scheduled by the theater include the popular musicals such as Phantom of the Opera and Titanic, Yang Liping's dance drama Peacock, and the stage play Sunrise directed by the celebrity dancer and show hostess Jin Xing.
