Recently, the construction of the Shanghaidong Station near the Pudong International Airport is officially started, marking a great progress for the planned Shanghai-Zhapu-Hangzhou high-speed railway that will connect Shanghaidong Station and Hangzhouxi Station. In the future, it will take some 40 minutes to travel between the two transportation hubs.
With a total length of about 192 kilometers and a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour, it will alleviate the tension of the railroad capacity between Shanghai and Hangzhou.
The Shanghaidong Station is located approximately five kilometers away from T1 of the Pudong International Airport.
In the future, travelers coming from the Hangzhouxi Station will find it more convenient to get to PVG. Additionally, a station is expected to be constructed in the north of Hangzhou's Linping district along the Shanghai-Zhapu-Hangzhou high-speed railway.
