On the Sunday two weeks ago, my whole day was brightened by the bright and shining yellow of the large trunk of rape blossoms as I entered the Meirong Village at Tonglu for an exploring trip.
My adventure was started with a traditional Chinese dance. I could feel from a distance the dancers' energy matching mine. The dance and drama reflected the Chinese wedding culture and dancing styles. After such an entertaining and enlightening performance, we headed for a field trip in the rape field. Rape, or oilseed rape, is widely planted in this area. Its blossom is bright-yellow belonging to the family Brassicaceae, cultivated mainly for its oil-rich seeds. It is now the blooming season.
Trying the snacks with an intangible culture heritage background made me feel as if I were a local Chinese. As much as I loved the different foods, I like the relaxing trip that was so welcoming to me to be merged into the amazing Hangzhou city. I was so lucky to watch a local Opera in Zhejiang and enjoyed it very much. It was a touching story told in a very artistic way. What surprised me was how much the local Chinese enjoyed and loved their own culture as we met so many Chinese tourists there.
It was such a fun and learning experience as a foreigner to get to explore the beauty of the Chinese culture and the Hangzhou city as well. I'd like to thank Hangzhoufeel for offering such an opportunity.
