Apr 5 marks the 200-day countdown to the 4th Asian Para Games scheduled from Oct 22 to 28, 2023. A series of celebrations were held in Hangzhou to which Majid Rashed, president of Asian Paralympic Committee, sent his wishes.

During the themed event held at the Zhejiang International Film and Television Center “Hearts Meet, Dreams Shine”, promotional songs for Hangzhou Asian Games and Asian Para Games such as “Beautiful Scenery” and “@Future” were sung by the PwD singers. A Developmental Care Action for Autistic Children was also launched on-site, including projects such as rehabilitation, employment, art training, cultural and sports activities for autistic children.

In addition, a trail walk along the Qiantang River to celebrate the occasion kicked off on Apr 3 participated by 200 people with disabilities and their volunteer assistants. The trail walk featured the competition area with boccia, lawn bowls, and other events, allowing PwD to engage themselves in experiencing the upcoming Hangzhou Asian Para Games.

45 countries (regions) in Asia will send delegations to participate in the 22 programs of the Hangzhou Asian Para Games. It is estimated that there will be some 3,800 athletes, 1,500 officials, coaches and support staff, 1,600 technical officials, and 3,000 media reporters and broadcasters participating in the Games. All venues have adapted the barrier-free facilities in the venues to ensure that participants have full accessibility from the pick-up and drop-off points to their respective functional areas.
