The Hangzhou cruise, which covers a 235-kilometer distance along the Xin'an River, Fuchun River and Qiantang River, has started operation. Boats sail against the water flow, carrying passengers to the upstream counties and cities such as Fuyang, Tonglu, and Jiande from downtown Hangzhou.
Running through six districts, three counties, and more than 70 subdistricts, this travel line is known for its abundant tourist resources. It includes two national scenic spots, two national tourist resorts, six national forest parks, and 22 tourist attractions (two of which are graded 5A, seventeen 4A and eight 3A) .
Centering on the theme of the Fuchun Mountain and the Qiantang River, Hangzhou will see a new tourism spatial distribution. Five major product belts regarding international theme performance, wild luxury hotels, featured food, Tang and Song poetry, and outdoor sports will be created in the future. In addition, the water tourism product system led by cruise ship vacation products and the shore tourism product system led by international brands will also be launched.
Moreover, 50 ships are expected to be put into use before Hangzhou Asian Games, with ticket prices ranging from hundreds to thousands yuan. In March, the cruise will also stage a series of tourism programs, such as a one-day boat ride trip and a three-day essence tour.
This new cruise is expected to have an enormous market potential. According to some scientific calculations, its tourist amount is expected to exceed 10 million in the next five years.
