Hangzhou’s Westlake University has announced the launch of several prestigious international summer schools in 2025, offering global undergraduates immersive experiences in cutting-edge research in life sciences, electronic information engineering, and mathematics. All courses are delivered in English. Applications are now open for these competitive and highly selective programs, each designed to promote academic excellence and spark innovation.
Frontiers of Life Sciences’ International Undergraduates Summer School 2025
Organized by the Westlake University School of Life Sciences, this two-week program runs from July 23 to August 6. Now in its third year, it continues to be one of the most in-demand summer programs. It features lectures from world-renowned scholars, including U.S. National Academy of Sciences members and pioneers in neuroscience, immunotherapy, and genetic evolution. Participants will receive hands-on training in advanced laboratory projects and cutting-edge techniques, while engaging directly with leading researchers.

2025 Westlake International EIE Summer School
Hosted by the School of Engineering from August 3–10, this inaugural program includes 32 hours of coursework in photonics, communications, smart manufacturing, and systems. Twelve distinguished professors will lead sessions on cutting-edge topics. Participants will also attend the 2025 Westlake International Symposium in Engineering (WISE), a flagship conference on AI and electronic engineering.
Eligibility: Open to 50 sophomores and juniors majoring in related fields

2025 Westlake University Mathematics Summer School
Held by the School of Science from July 6–16, this program features lectures on diverse mathematical topics, blending theoretical foundations with modern applications, such as neural networks. With just 40 spots available, the program emphasizes close interaction with leading experts and is designed to inspire interest in mathematical research.
