The 9th China (Hangzhou) College Students’ Entrepreneurship Competition officially opened in Hangzhou on December 18, covering four industry tracks. It invites college students from domestic universities (including those in Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan) and overseas universities, or graduates within five years of graduation or college students under the age of 35 to participate.
From February to June 2025, after five rounds of competition, winners will receive rewards ranging from 5,000 to 50,000 yuan. If their projects land in Hangzhou, they will be eligible for a grant ranging from 50,000 yuan to 1 million yuan.
The China (Hangzhou) College Students’ Entrepreneurship Competition is the first global competition of its kind held by a local government in China and has involved universities across the country for the past 16 years.
To encourage greater participation, the competition was held outside Hangzhou for the first time this year, with three additional competition areas in Beijing, Wuhan, and Xi’an.
According to statistics, the previous eight sessions attracted approximately 22,000 projects from around the world and engaged over 80,000 college students. This year’s competition also fostered more than 970 successful startups, with 34 corporate legal representatives selected for the “Hangzhou University Students Outstanding Entrepreneurial Talent Cultivation Program”.
To further support college student entrepreneurs in Hangzhou, the competition will also feature the 2025 Global Young Entrepreneurs Assembly in June 2025, along with activities such as the Entrepreneurship League, the Entrepreneurship Billboard, and the Youth Entrepreneurship Carnival.
