Ramblings of an old man.
My wife and myself were asked to go to the Hangzhou English skills competition in drama attended by vocational schools. I was told that I could take some photos there. I went along with my wife as I thought that if it doesn’t pan out then I would leave and go somewhere else. Well, the introduction was quite exciting. What followed was just awe-inspiring. I was gobsmacked. It was amazing. The talent, the drama and the passion was truly edge of the seat stuff. I was hooked. It was fascinating. The students are true drama kings and queens. The Level of English was very good with only a few mispronounciations. They projected their voices, sometimes a little too loud, but with an air of authority. They belonged on the stage. In fact I think that some of them belong in Hollywood. The drama was on par with other shows that I have seen in the theater. I am a Theater buff so I know. The backdrops to the different dramas was excellent, most of it fitting in so well that it looked quite realistic. In some of the photos you can hardly distinguish between the backdrop and the stage. While watching, your attention is taken to a new level. All too soon it is over and you sit there feeling a little sad, but realizing that you have watched it for the whole day. It was riveting stuff.
