Hangzhou is bolstering its support for international residents and businesses with the launch of “The Belt and Road · 12366 Multilingual Tax Consultation Hangzhou Service Station”.

This initiative aims to enhance cross-border tax services with multilingual support in 15 languages, including English, French, German, Japanese, and more, in addition to Chinese. Hosted by the Hangzhou Tax Service of State Taxation Administration, the service provides a one-stop solution for expats and international companies navigating complex tax regulations.

The station offers three key services: multilingual consultation, intelligent policy retrieval, and integrated information sharing. Through the website of the Zhejiang Provincial Tax Service, State Taxation Administration (https://zhejiang.chinatax.gov.cn), users can access these services, submit tax-related inquiries in their preferred language, and receive answers via SMS or email. This multilingual service is supported by a team of 70 specialists fluent in various languages, ensuring expats receive accurate, tailored information.

In an interview with Hangzhoufeel, Zhang Danying, a representative from the International Taxation Department, Hangzhou Tax Service, State Taxation Administration, highlighted the purpose of this service, “We aim to provide a more international, personalized, and modern tax service for cross-border taxpayers and fee payers.” She encouraged expats to “try this website and explore what tax-related service they can enjoy,” emphasizing the platform’s user-friendly design that consolidates information in one place.

The platform also delivers targeted guidance through a “Hot Topics” section, addressing common concerns among foreign residents and businesses. For instance, it provides a clear overview of how foreign individuals can register on the Individual Income Tax APP.

For expats and international businesses, “The Belt and Road·12366 Multilingual Tax Consultation Hangzhou Service Station” represents a significant step in making Hangzhou’s tax environment more accessible and user-friendly. As Hangzhou’s cross-border trade continues to grow, this initiative reflects the city’s commitment to supporting its diverse and international community.

The station, located at No. 68-70 Jianguo Middle Road, held its launch event on Nov 8 and is expected to become an essential resource for the city’s expanding foreign community.
