A quick guide to the third Global Digital Trade Expo (GDTE)

For the convenience of visitors, this brief guide introduces the themes, facilities worth experiencing and modes of transportation to the Expo.

This year’s edition of GDTE contains nine exhibition areas in total: one comprehensive exhibition area and eight specialized digital industry areas.

Area 1

It is mainly used to host the opening ceremony of the Expo.

Area 2

It includes a comprehensive exhibition zone and a specialized digital industry zone—the Data & Finance Zone. With a comprehensive understanding of the current development direction of global digital trade, visitors can also experience biological payment technology (palmprint payment), genomic sequencing, virtual control of traffic lights, and more.

Area 3

It is home to the Digital Medicine & AI Zone (PIPF), focusing on digital healthcare. Visitors have a chance to enter the future clinic and experience new technologies in the life sciences industry, such as digital consultation. For instance, visitors can explore TCM regimen and treatment with the help of the intelligent moxibustion robot.

Suggested visiting time: 15 minutes

Area 4

It highlights the Smart Mobility Zone, where digital transportation takes center stage. Visitors can have an immersive experience of autonomous driving, driverless driving, and cyber-vehicles. Additionally, visitors will have the opportunity to witness the debut of low-altitude flight technology equipped with clean energy.

Area 5

It is dedicated to the “Digital Trade Night” exchange activity. On the night of September 29, visitors are invited to enjoy the Yue Opera The Butterfly Lovers, the human-computer interaction show Dingbu Bridge, and more. Additionally, a series of lists will be released on-site, including Forbes China’s “The Top 100 Companies in Global Digital Trade 2024,” the Top 100 Companies in Digital Trade 2024, the 2024 Winner List of the Innovation Contest in Digital Trade, and the List of Selected Cities of Smart City Expo World Congress (SCEWC).

Area 6

On the first floor is the Silk Road E-commerce Zone, where more than ten cross-border E-commerce-related industry activities will be carried out. At the same time, various specialties from the countries along the Silk Road await their customers. You will also find the booth of Hangzhoufeel here! On the second floor is the Consumer Electronics Zone, where visitors can see smart home appliances, participate in trade-in activities for consumer goods, and experience virtual home environments such as virtual living rooms.

Area 7

On the first floor is the Smart City Zone. Visitors are given the chance to see the practical application of intelligent technology in green energy, environmental monitoring, urban logistics, cultural tourism, and the like. On the second floor is the Trade Center Pavillion.

Area 8

It houses the Digital Culture and Entertainment Zone & AI Zone, where you can participate in virtual concerts, virtual museums, virtual shopping, and other VR activities.

Suggested visiting time: 30 minutes

Transportation tips:

Self-driving route: Enter through Gate 5, park in Area 7 of the underground garage, follow the direction board, and take the escalator to Area 7B to reach the Media Center service counter.

Online car-hailing route: Passengers get off at Gate 5, follow the direction board to Gate 1 in Area 7A, then turn left, take the escalator to Area 7B on the 3rd floor, and finally reach the Media Center service counter.

Bus route: Passengers get off at the East Registration Area, follow the direction board to Gate 1 in Area 7A, then turn left, take the escalator to Area 7B on the 4th floor, and finally reach the Media Center service counter.

Metro route: Passengers can take Line 1 and get off at Gangcheng Avenue Station, walk from Exit C to the East Registration Area, follow the direction board to Gate 1 in Area 7A, then take the escalator to the 4th floor, and reach the Media Center service counter.

City service:

Payment: For the convenience of overseas visitors, Hangzhou has launched the Alipay mini-program named “AI Hangzhou” to provide them with one-stop payment services, including inbound procedures, accommodation, and tourism.

Board and lodging: There are 12 hotels in total within a 30-minute traffic circle around the Exhibition Center; the various commercial facilities in the Exhibition Center can accommodate 30,000 people dining at the same time.
