Ever imagined being able to go diving right at your doorstep?
In the picturesque city of Jiande, a groundbreaking project is making waves--literally and metaphorically. The “BlueC40+” Diving Club, recently honored with the prestigious AMA International Architecture Design Award from Spain, is set to become a new city landmark, blending industrial history with cutting-edge design.
What sets the “BlueC40+” project apart is its seamless fusion of the old and the new. The site retains parts of the original calcium carbonate factory, including a preserved kiln and the remains of three others, silently witnessing the city’s evolution. The design embraces the rustic charm of red brick textures while integrating modern elements, breathing new life into the structure.
The club will feature a 42-meter-deep diving pool, which is nearing completion and is expected to start trial operations in early 2025. Diving enthusiasts in Hangzhou and nearby areas will soon have access to world-class facilities right in their backyard.
Designed as a comprehensive destination for divers and water sports enthusiasts, “BlueC40+” will provide services ranging from diving training and competitions to underwater photography and aquatic education camps.
As construction progresses, anticipation builds. By next year, residents and tourists alike will have the opportunity to experience all the top-tier diving facilities.
