Share your interpretation of “Hangzhou Feel”

Hangzhoufeel Creative Short Video Contest has officially kicked off, as a bid to involve residents and visitors in Hangzhou to feel and showcase the unique charm and vibrant culture of this dynamic city through their lens.

This event invites creators worldwide to submit original short videos that embody their unique interpretation of the “Hangzhou Feel”—be it through its stunning scenery, rich culture, tasty food, interesting folk tales, historical landmarks, cutting-edge technology and more.

Key dates and submission details

Submission Period: From April 28 to August 10, 2024

How to Submit: Aspiring entrants should send their original video(s) and a completed registration form, along with a signed letter of commitment, directly to the organizing committee at hangzhoufeelvideo@126.com.

Participants can also visit the Hangzhoufeel WeChat official account, where the necessary documents are available for download.

More events in celebration of Hangzhou Citizens’ Day

In addition to the Hangzhoufeel Creative Short Video Contest, this year’s event features over 10 sub-events centered on themes such as sports, gourmet, animation, and music. Compared to activities of the previous Hangzhou Citizens’ Day, the serial events of this year boast richer content and span a wider timeframe.

During the recent May Day holiday, the renowned “Human Wall of Volunteers” by the West Lake in Hangzhou made its return. As part of the fourth Hangzhou Citizens’ Day events, this year, 14 Hangzhou citizens joined the “Most Beautiful Wall” along with 120 trained volunteers to assist tourists crossing the road in the busiest intersections during the holiday.

The trained volunteers include students from Zhejiang University of Science and Technology, Zhejiang Gongshang University, Zhejiang Chinese Medical University, and personnel from enterprises and institutions in Hangzhou.

Furthermore, Hangzhou citizens enjoyed a coffee festival at their doorstep during this May Day holiday. As part of the Hangzhou Citizens’ Day celebration, the Jiangnan Coffee & Life Festival brought together nearly 30 coffee brands and nearly 100 booths selling handcrafted coffee and cultural & creative products on site. With the theme “Unleashing Yourself with Caffeine”, citizens had the opportunity to experience coffee cultures around the world and learn about coffee roasting and brewing processes.

The fourth Hangzhou Citizens’ Day series event will last until September, featuring fun and interactive mass activities aimed at enhancing citizen participation and experience, promoting the image and influence of Hangzhou as one of “China’s Happiest Cities”.
