Early last year, China Post, the country's state-owned post office, which is keen to stay relevant among younger consumers, was officially engaged in the coffee market and created its own coffee brand, drawing great public attention with its retrospective brand image.
The Post Coffee has launched more than 50 stores in Beijing, Guangzhou, Nanjing, Tianjin and other places after its debut in Xiamen, Feb 2022 before finally coming to Hangzhou on Oct 17 at the Wangjiangmen post office on Jiangcheng road, Shangcheng district.
With a slogan stating "Have a cup of Post Coffee and write a letter to a beloved one", the post office is partly turned into a cafe, featuring lovely stamp samples to go with your coffee cups. The entire cafe is decorated in a simple and tidy style, selling over 20 beverages in different cup sizes, priced from 12.8 yuan to 25.8 yuan.
In addition to the classic Americano and Latte, Post Coffee also has its own unique beverages and several seasonal products, including the gold osmanthus pineapple tea and osmanthus wine latte. The taste is filled with floral fragrance and a light scent of alcohol, bringing you a blended sensory experience.
Besides coffee, the cafe also features a postcard-printing machine resembling a mailbox, where you can choose your own images to get printed. You are also able to record a voice message to store on it. By scanning the QR code on the box, you will retrieve the recorded message.
You will also see a series of retro-themed products around the cafe such as green tricycle, small truck models, computer bags, key chains and pins.
Last but not least, there are stamps available on-site for DIY stamping, and postcards that are pre-stamped, on which you just need to write the recipient's address and drop them in the mailbox there, or take it as a special keepsake for yourself.
