"Do you think it's really hot in Africa? Look at Hangzhou! It's extremely burning hot here!" If you are a short video enthusiast, you must have seen this video by an African young man who groused about the weather with a good sense of humor.

Ngambou Lontsi Gervais (Chinese name: 孙白杨), is a graduate from the School of Mechanical and Automatic Control, majoring in Mechanical Engineering. He has completed four years of undergraduate and three years of graduate studies at Zhejiang Sci-Tech University, where he was the president of the International Student Association and won a bunch of awards in various national and provincial competitions.

"During the seven-year study in Hangzhou, under the careful guidance of my tutors, with the help of my bros and teachers, and the encouragement of my parents and relatives, I have become a better self in this beautiful school and among this group of outstanding people." Ngambou misses his college days very much.

Ngambou's journey to China started from the Confucius Institute in Cameroon in 2012, when he signed up for the China Bridge Chinese Language Competition, which offered the opportunity to visit China and actually interact with the local people. His Chinese learning secret lies in karaoke, as the songs, such as The Moon Represents My Heart, Night by Night, We Are Not the Same, are so catchy to him.

It took more than 20 hours to fly from his hometown to Beijing. During the first two weeks in China, he could barely get used to any Chinese food. It was not until he was so hungry that he ventured to eat with chopsticks some scrambled eggs with tomatoes, which was unexpectedly yummy. "Now that I have a Chinese stomach, I have no problem eating snail rice noodles. I can cook myself after work, and make with ease my favorite scrambled eggs with tomatoes." Ngambou said with pride.

Which restaurant serves the most authentic Western food? Which bar has the greatest vibe? Ngambou has got so familiar with Xiasha in Qiantang district where his university is located, that he often meets with friends there to catch up.

"We always jokingly call him GM Sun", said his friend and schoolmate Mustakim from Tajikistan. "He is full of enthusiasm, responsible for his work, cheerful and lively at the same time. We even learned to sing the Yue Opera of A Dream of Red Mansions together."

When traveling in China, he also took videos from time to time, and sent tea or other souvenirs to his relatives and friends in his hometown. In his spare time, he would try to shoot some daily life videos on his own, and has opened a short video account online with 150,000 fans at the most.

Now, Ngambou works as an engineer in Faptech (Hangzhou) Co., Ltd. headquartered in Yuhang Economic and Technological Development Zone. By devoting himself to providing creative solutions to the construction of intelligent factories, he gives back to this digital city which he calls his second hometown.
