The first batch of the China roses started blooming on Hangzhou's overpasses on Apr 15! In the past few years, Hangzhou has planted 2.15 million China roses with more than 40 varieties on the elevated area, creating an appealing view for residents and visitors.
These days, admiring flowers has become essential on the schedule of the Hangzhou people. When it comes to the beautiful April, the locals will always think of China roses -- the healing celebrity flower exclusive to Hangzhou.
The first batch of China roses on Hangzhou's overpasses has been quietly blooming on the Qiushi, Shangtang and Liushi Elevated Expressways. With a lower temperature and more rain this spring, the China roses have flowered a week earlier than in the previous years, which also thanks to the careful maintenance.
Fan Lijuan, a researcher at the Ministry of Landscape Architecture and Greenery, said the roses will come earlier as the temperature has risen recently and there will be several more days with the temperature reaching 30℃.
Will China roses "leave early"? "It takes about 7-10 days for a China rose to bloom and fade. If the temperature keeps to be low enough, we can still see it during the May Day holiday," Fan said.
