Hangzhou Asian Games brings two nations' friendship closer

After listening to the achievements of relevant preparations stated by HAGOC, Mr. Valeriano, the Deputy Secretary-General of the Philippines NOC said, "Just like previous games in China, this one for Hangzhou is very well prepared, we are very impressed. At the same time, our training has never stopped. After SEA Games, I think we will prepare better for the Asian Games."
It was reported that the Philippine national team had won gold medals in weightlifting, golf, skating and other sports, especially creating great records in weightlifting and boxing. The athletes look forward to winning more medals in the Asian Games and will compete with the Chinese athletes in some sports. "We all look up to Chinese athletes because you have shown global success, so we would like to try and get maybe closer to Chinese athletes," said Mr. Valeriano.
For the last international event with no threshold on prerequisites, the Philippine Sports delegation will send as many athletes as possible to participate in the Hangzhou Asian Games and be tested at the higher stage of competition.
Among the Philippine public, the Asian Games has aroused great interest and enthusiasm as a major international event. Mr. Valeriano mentioned that the Philippine's national athletes won four gold medals at the last Asian Games in Jakarta and also performed well against leading sporting nations in Asia such as China, Japan and South Korea. "It's very big for Filipinos, for our country. We all look forward to it and there's a huge following," said Mr. Valeriano.
"We are good friends with China and we are all intrigued by a lot of Chinese culture as we have many Chinese nationals that live in the Philippines, and there are all our friends we do business with them. So any time that we get to visit China and learn more about your culture, then we also learn more about our friends Philippines, we also become closer. So definitely it's always a good experience," said Mr. Valeriano.
"All the work of the Hangzhou Asian Games has been great, and once again I wish you every success!" Valeriano hoped that China would overcome the difficulties of the pandemic as early as possible and present a 100% successful sporting feast to the world.

据悉，菲律宾国家队在举重、高尔夫、滑冰等项目上都获得过金牌，尤其在举重、拳击项目上成绩显著，运动员们期待在亚运舞台上斩获更多奖牌，部分项目也会同中国运动员产生竞争。巴莱里亚诺先生对此表示，“我们非常尊重中国运动员，他们取得了国际瞩目的成功，我们也在争取赶上他们。”
作为最后一届无需资格准入门槛的国际赛事，菲律宾体育代表团将派出尽可能多的运动员参与杭州亚运会，在更高水准的舞台上经历赛事检验。
在菲律宾社会民众中，亚运会作为一项重大国际赛事，关注度极高。巴莱里亚诺先生提到，菲律宾国家运动员曾在上届雅加达亚运会上取得4枚金牌，在与亚洲体育强国中国、日本、韩国的比赛中，同样表现出色。“这对菲律宾人民和国家来说意义重大，我们都很期待亚运会的到来，并吸引更多关注者。”
“我们与中国是好邻居、好朋友，我们都对中国文化很感兴趣，因为有很多中国朋友生活在此，也与我们有生意往来。每当我们访问中国，更多地了解中国文化后，我们也会更多地去了解当地的中国朋友。这让我们变得更为亲密，也将是我们美好的经历。”巴莱里亚诺先生说。
“杭州亚运会的一切工作都非常出色，我再次预祝你们取得圆满成功！”巴莱里亚诺希望中国早日克服疫情难关，为世界展示一届100%圆满的体育盛会。
